About Me:
Hi,
I am an Early Childhood Teacher and now Play Therapist - teaching over the past 15 years from pre-school to Year 12. Over the years I have always promoted play based learning even up into my Middle School classrooms. I have found Play Therapy meets children where they are at developmentally and provides a safe space to work through any worries or concerns that may have. Through Child-Centred Play Therapy I have continually observed that the child is free to guide the play, and the therapist provides a safe and trusting environment for the child to express and explore. Building trusting and authentic relationships between child, their family and therapist is an essential component of my approach to play therapy. I particularly enjoy making meaning from children's play and supporting them to discover their own solutions to what they are finding tricky and troubling. Child centred and a strengths based approach - such a joy!
