Minimum Qualification requirement:

Completed undergraduate degree in human services or education (social work, psychology, counselling, behavioural sciences, occupational therapy, art therapy, music therapy, drama therapy or similar).

Membership level criteria:

Completion of a minimum of 200 hours of post graduate play therapy training from a recognised training institution. Please refer to our Members Guide for a list of Recognised Training Providers (coming soon).

• Supervision: A minimum of 40 hours of supervision (with RPT-S) to be completed. A minimum of 10 hours of personal therapy hours can be included in the total hours accrued. Evidence of hours can be provided via a statutory declaration, letter from the supervisor and/ or collated spreadsheet.

• Supervision: A minimum of 40 hours of supervision (with RPT-S) to be completed over a minimum of 2 years post RPT status. A maximum of 10 personal therapy hours can be included in the total hours accrued.
• Supervisor Training: Completion of 3 day supervision training program related specifically to providing supervision to practitioners in a human services related capacity

OR if not previously registered as an RPT with PTPA, the following criteria applies:

• Client contact hours: A minimum of 600 hours completed over a minimum of 3 years post graduation from play therapy training.
• Supervision: A minimum of 80 hours of supervision (with RPT-S) to be completed completed over a minimum of 3 years post graduation from play therapy training. A maximum of 20 personal therapy hours can be included in the total hours accrued.
• Supervisor Training: Completion of 3 day supervision training program related specifically to providing supervision to practitioners in a human services related capacity
  

Evidence of hours can be provided via a statutory declaration, letter from the supervisor/therapist and/or signed collated spreadsheet. Certificate of supervisor training to be provided.
